Not every project gets built. Some still deserve to exist.
A living archive for the projects that shaped you
even if nothing else came of them.
Architect's Survival Guide
How It Works
-
Upload your project
-
Add 2-3 lines of context (optional, not performative)
-
Choose how visible it is
-
Let it exist
That’s it.
No judging.
No ranking.
No optimisation games.

What This Is
vis.a.vis isn’t made for a single competition.
It isn’t a portfolio site.
And it definitely isn’t about winning.
Architect’s Survival Guide is a space for architectural work that usually disappears:
-
the scheme that lost by one vote
-
the studio project that changed how you think
-
the competition entry that taught you more than any built job
-
the folder you keep but never show
Here, those projects don’t need justification.
They don’t need polishing.
They just need to exist.

Why We’re
Doing This
Architecture produces far more thinking than buildings.
But most of it gets deleted, forgotten, or buried in hard drives,
not because it lacks value,
but because it doesn’t “fit” the usual formats.
vis-a-vis exists to hold that thinking.
We believe:
-
unbuilt work is still real work
-
process matters as much as outcome
-
survival is part of practice, not a failure of it
This is an archive of how architects actually grow
--- quietly, unevenly, and often off-stage.
